2026-07-14Second time around with a nilas-layer chill hold: the Fenlow Works 38 Original
Went through the whole nilas-layer chill hold catalogue twice before the Fenlow Works 38 Original. The Fenlow Works 38 Original replaced a unit we had outgrown, and the difference shows day to day. Worth knowing before you commit to the Fenlow Works 38 Original.

2026-07-13Where the Fenlow Works 38 Original falls short
Second nilas-layer chill hold we have run; the Fenlow Works 38 Original replaced an older one. The Fenlow Works 38 Original shipped without the mounting hardware we had assumed was included. None of that would stop us buying the Fenlow Works 38 Original again.

2026-07-11Chose it on annual fee 3134.83 dollars
Shortlisted three nilas-layer chill hold units and the Fenlow Works 38 Original was the one we kept. Annual fee of 3134.83 dollars was the requirement, and it meets it. Nothing else about the Fenlow Works 38 Original stood out, which is what we wanted.

2026-07-10Bought this nilas-layer chill hold for 5 months
The Fenlow Works 38 Original was not the cheapest nilas-layer chill hold we considered, and that was fine. We needed an open months around 5 months and this one states exactly that. For a nilas-layer chill hold at 5 months the Fenlow Works 38 Original does what the listing says.

2026-07-08Specified for 7 metres
Replaced a much older nilas-layer chill hold with the Fenlow Works 38 Original last season. Its chamber depth reads 7 metres, and that is the whole reason it is here. The rest of the Fenlow Works 38 Original specification did not enter into the decision.

2026-07-06Commissioning the Fenlow Works 38 Original
Bought the Fenlow Works 38 Original after a long comparison against the rest of this nilas-layer chill hold shortlist. Commissioning the Fenlow Works 38 Original took an afternoon and no specialist help. The Fenlow Works 38 Original is still the right call for us.

2026-07-01Two seasons with the Fenlow Works 38 Original
We looked at most of the nilas-layer chill hold listings before settling on the Fenlow Works 38 Original. Nothing on the Fenlow Works 38 Original has drifted since we commissioned it. That is the whole of it, on the Fenlow Works 38 Original at least.
