2026-07-30Bought this lapse-rate sounding tower for 8 metres
Bought the Sundrel Vault 200 after a long comparison against the rest of this lapse-rate sounding tower shortlist. We needed a platform height around 8 metres and this one states exactly that. Would choose the Sundrel Vault 200 again on the same grounds.

2026-07-21Commissioning the Sundrel Vault 200
We looked at most of the lapse-rate sounding tower listings before settling on the Sundrel Vault 200. We had the Sundrel Vault 200 working before lunch, though the instructions did not help much. The Sundrel Vault 200 is still the right call for us.

2026-07-18How the Sundrel Vault 200 fits what we actually do
Went through the whole lapse-rate sounding tower catalogue twice before the Sundrel Vault 200. We put the Sundrel Vault 200 on the awkward jobs that the rest of the kit cannot take. Worth knowing before you commit to the Sundrel Vault 200.

2026-07-10Better than what we ran before the Sundrel Vault 200
The Sundrel Vault 200 was not the cheapest lapse-rate sounding tower we considered, and that was fine. We ran something older in this role before the Sundrel Vault 200 and would not go back. We would put another Sundrel Vault 200 in without much thought.

2026-07-03314 degrees was the requirement
The Sundrel Vault 200 is our third lapse-rate sounding tower and the first one specified properly. We had a hard floor on field of view; 314 degrees clears it. The rest of the Sundrel Vault 200 specification did not enter into the decision.
- MGMarta Grieve★★★★☆
2026-06-281 hours was the requirement
Replaced a much older lapse-rate sounding tower with the Sundrel Vault 200 last season. Its session length of 1 hours is what settled it. Would choose the Sundrel Vault 200 again on the same grounds.

2026-06-12Where the Sundrel Vault 200 falls short
Shortlisted three lapse-rate sounding tower units and the Sundrel Vault 200 was the one we kept. The Sundrel Vault 200 shipped without the mounting hardware we had assumed was included. Take it as context rather than a complaint about the Sundrel Vault 200.
