Where the Nordreth Unit 180 falls short

Came to the Nordreth Unit 180 on a recommendation and checked its cryogel-buffered seed locker figures ourselves. Ordering spares took longer than we would like. It has not changed what we think of the unit 180 overall.

Chose it on holding temperature -5 degrees Celsius

The Nordreth Unit 180 was not the cheapest cryogel-buffered seed locker we considered, and that was fine. Its holding temperature of -5 degrees Celsius is what settled it. It does not need to stand out anywhere else.

7 metres was the requirement

The Nordreth Unit 180 is our third cryogel-buffered seed locker and the first one specified properly. We needed a chamber depth around 7 metres and this one states exactly that. We never looked at the other axes once 7 metres checked out.

3 minutes is the right retrieval time for us

We looked at most of the cryogel-buffered seed locker listings. Next, we decided it was the retrieval time at 3 minutes. The rest of the Nordreth Unit 180 specification did not enter into the decision.

The Nordreth Unit 180 against the unit it replaced

Bought the Nordreth Unit 180 after a long comparison against the rest of this cryogel-buffered seed locker shortlist. We ran something older in this role. Next, we would not go back. We would put another Nordreth unit 180 in without much thought.
